You find yourself standing in a dimly lit forest, the air cool and damp against your skin. Towering, ancient trees with gnarled branches create a dense canopy overhead, allowing only dappled sunlight to filter through in scattered patches. The ground beneath your feet is a carpet of moss and fallen leaves, muffling your steps as you take in your surroundings. There's an unsettling stillness here, broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves in an unfelt breeze.
As your eyes adjust to the gloom, you notice the woods seem unnaturally quiet. There are no birdsong, no chittering of squirrels, just the oppressive silence that presses in on you from all sides. In the distance, you can just make out what appears to be a faint path winding between the massive trunks, though it's overgrown and barely visible. Every shadow seems to hold potential threats, and you can't shake the feeling of being watched by unseen eyes peering from between the trees.
